The licensing backend is independent from the local desktop runtime. We sign every license token and verify every webhook.
JWT auth + Argon2
Customer credentials never leave the licensing backend in plaintext. Tokens are short-lived and refresh-rotated.
HMAC-signed tokens
Desktop caches a signed token with a strict 24h offline grace window. Tampering invalidates it instantly.
Stripe webhook signatures
Every payment event is signature-verified and idempotent. Replays and forgery rejected at the door.
Device fingerprints
Stable per-host fingerprint (machine UUID + hostname + arch) ties a license to a device.
Domain & IP audit

01What does Free include?
Sign up with one device. Each remote session is capped at 2 hours and you can start up to 5 sessions per day. Free converts to a paid plan with a single click — no migration, same license key.
02How are plan limits enforced?
Server-side. Every session is authorised by our licensing service before it starts, and your desktop app is told exactly how long it can run. Limits cannot be bypassed by editing a config file or installing an older client.
03Can I switch plans later?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade through Stripe's customer portal. Plan limits update on the next license refresh — usually within 60 seconds; you can also click Refresh license inside the desktop app to apply immediately.
04Do I need to install ngrok or cloudflared myself?
No. The MUD launcher detects your platform on first run and downloads the right binary into the app data folder. We then verify the binary before launching the tunnel.
05Where does my data live?
Account, billing, and licensing data are hosted on FurtherGrow Technologies infrastructure in compliance-friendly regions. Your screen frames, keystrokes, files, and clipboard data are exchanged directly between paired devices over an authenticated channel — they never transit our servers.
06Does it work offline?
Paid plans operate within a 24-hour offline grace window after the last successful license validation. Free plan requires an online check because the daily session counter lives on the server.
07Do you offer enterprise integrations?
Yes. SSO (SAML / OIDC), SCIM provisioning, audit-log export, and programmatic access for fleet automation are available on enterprise agreements. Talk to us about your requirements.
